GlobalLogic a leading experience design and digital product development company, in association with NASSCOM successfully concluded 30Hacks, a unique 30 hour hour non-stop Hackathon on February 20 in New Delhi. GL Mavericks from GlobalLogic were declared winners for developing an app that can be used as a tool to minimize the effects of Noise Pollution and yet listen to the vital sounds in the environment. The winning team won a prize money of Rs. 1 lacs. Team Xscension from GlobalLogic and team Steria Innovation from Steria won second and third prize respectively.
The event commenced on February 19th 2016 and was organized at the NASSCOM office in New Delhi. The Hack brought together 28 teams from different companies, academia and start-ups across India to participate. Participants displayed enthusiasm and collaboration by teams flying from across the country to compete at the Hackathon. These teams nominated ideas around Digital Disruption under media, communications, healthcare, connected solutions, retail, financial services and security domains.
The winning idea was judged by an eminent external jury including Rajul Garg, Venture Capitalist, Director, Sunstone Business school; Maninder Singh Grewal, MD, HeathFore Technologies; Subodh Kumar, Chief Technology Officer, Magicbricks.com; Shalabh Nigam, Chief Technology Officer, Info Edge India Ltd and Udit Sawhney, Chief Technology Officer, Eduwizards Pvt. Ltd. upon business implication and innovation of the idea.
The thought behind organising this unique 30 hour non-stop Hackathon was to provide talented coders, developers, budding start up and enthusiasts an opportunity to convert creative ideas into innovative technology-led solutions. In addition to this, serving as a platform where participants can display their out-of-the-box thinking and analytical abilities in formulating ground-breaking solutions.
The organisers laid prominent emphasis on making this event an enriching learning experience for all the participants and hence, made sure that technology experts from GlobalLogic helped the participants as tech-wizards during the 30-hour long enthralling competition. Also, the presence of NASSOM as one of the partners was a great boost and encouragement to the youth and the developer community.
