According to Fowler, the centre will help the company prepare for the fourth industrial revolution. He says the next industrial revolution is all about the connection of enterprise data, machine data and models that can predict the future result. This will help move the world where machines are told what to do by people to a scenario where machines will tell people who to run assets that help them get the maximum from them.

Internal restructuring of GE has taken place with the vision of GE for GE. GE for Customers and GE for the World programme. The source also mentions the new centre will be a part of the GE for GE initiative. The centre is a state-of-the-art 200,000 sq.ft digital hub.

Talent in India Tapped by GE

The company’s utmost priority is talent and they are ready to harness additional Indian talent in the field of data sciences, analytics, and product development space, according to Fowler.

The Bengaluru digital hub will be a part of GE’s network of global locations in San Ramon, Detroit, Michigan, California, Louisiana, New Orleans, Glen Allen, Virginia, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Hungry, and Budapest. The GE’s Predix-based software and solutions will be able to raise more than $6 billion in incremental revenue this year.
